When I decided to embark on my blogging adventure, I thought I’d get everything set up and a few blog posts written during the Mat Leave days before Little O arrived, in theory 9 days of freedom, but I thought he would be late and I’d even have more time. And surely I could dedicate at least 30 minutes per day to blogging once he’d arrived.
Well I was WRONG!
- My nesting instincts kicked in and preparing the house, cooking, buying all sorts of
uselessstuff for Little O became my priority - My laptop is relatively ancient (2009, runnig on XP) and slow especially when it comes to dealing with images, which is a bit of a problem for this blogging business. May need new laptop soon.
- Little O arrived 4 days early, for his grandad’s 70th and Mother’s Day. Very thoughtful young man already! That cut my “freedom time” a bit though.
- And last but not least, my 1st learning as a New Mum: Once you have a little cuddly ball of love coming into your life and especially if you breastfeed him, finding 30 minutes to yourself is challenging (at least that’s my experience of these first 10 days). I’ve been spending these precious 30 minutes… in the shower, or on the internet sending/answering friends’ and family’s emails.
So as I find my feet with this New Mum business, I may not post regularly but everybody says, “it does get better”. So I’ll be back writing soon. It’s all part of the training! 🙂
